App does not include a volume control, otherwise not bad.

This app is AWESOME and works great. The only thing it needs is a volume control up and down button. Please add this to your next update. Thanks!!!!

I have tried to use this app in the past and I still have the same problem. I cant find my IP Address! I have tried some of the other reviews suggestions and they have almost worked but most of the options to choose do not show up on my screen. Please help if someone can. It sounds like a good app but I cant get it to work.

UPDATE: I wrote to the developer of this app. They were quick to respond and fix the family share downloading. I have up the star rating to 5 stars. Best app for Direct TV Ive used. I use it much more than the regular DTV remote. I really like this Direct TV remote. I dont have to have my phone in the exact right place for it to work like with the Direct TV remote. After initial setup, the app "just worked" like its suppose to. Easy setup also. What makes this app 3 stars is the other person on my shared account can not download the app. They can see and download all other apps I have purchased and I can do the same with theirs. Just not this app. I will give 5 stars if/when the app is downloadable for others on shared accounts.

Peace of crap app dont work

So far Im happy with this app, I have noticed some problems under the bookmark section it doesnt find the channel you are looking for, and then the keyboard wont go away so you have to restart the app. But other than that everything seems good! I like the help section it really helped me set this remote up to work with my tv!

With 4 kids, we were always hunting for lost remotes. No more! I downloaded the free lite version first to make sure our receiver was compatible, per the instructions. Once I was confident it worked, I bought the full version. So nice! Its always at hand, its backlit, and our phones are a lot more likely to have a charged battery than the physical remote. Why didnt I get this ages ago!??

This app will not connect to my receiver. It says that “Wi-Fi remotes may not work with every single DirecTV system out there." Do not purchase this app!!

unless you have wifi enebled DTV boxes, this is a useless purchase, I have older boxes with no wifi

Positive - When it works it works well and i enjoy it. Negative - It loses the IP Address often and stops working and will not accept when you try to reload it. Very aggravating that you have to uninstall, reinstall and then wait days before it works again.

Our Directv remote died so I thought Id look for an app while waiting for the new remote. I had this app set up and working in about three minutes. Not sure Ill even worry about using my replacement remote since this app works tremendously!!!!

[edit - update] I am updating from 2 to 4 stars. All my connection problems have finally stopped and the app is working perfectly. When this app works, it works perfectly. If this app stays working, Ill update to 5 stars.

Paid a buck and it did nothing but tell me it wont work. App is like one of the beggars at the market.

I love this app! Works fantastic even when the regular remote is acting up. For 99 cents its cheaper than buying batteries for the old remote. I download the free version first just to make sure my equipment was compatible. It took me about 90 seconds to configure it for my house. I dont know why people moan and groan when they tell you to try the free version first? Looking forward to more versions - they seem to update it pretty frequently.

Update: New version works great. Nice option to change remote skins. Best direcTv iPhone app by far. The new interface and functionality are great! Is simple to use now that it looks exactly like the remote. Love that I can now see whats on & whats next for my bookmarked channels. Another review says it doesnt work on latest direcTv platform 2.0.24. That was either before an update or they cant read to set it up right. It works fine for me on latest platform. People wanting volume control: the iPhone has no infrared transmitter. No app can control your TV without that! Theres a gag app for that claims to control your TV. You can waste a couple dollars on that one if you dont believe me.

Just bought an iPhone 6+ and the new remote is even better with a larger screen. I like the new version with the switchable skins. Like to see more of those in future versions. I lose my remote all the time, deep couch cushions, and having this quick and easy way to operate the DirecTV boxes is very handy.

This app didnt work, 1.5 hours of frustration!!! Before I figured out that I did not have the "correct" package from Direct TV. If you buy you are wasting your money!!!
